Mondays are Mondays

How is the weekend already over? It was gorgeous out, I had an amazing race (recap coming later this week) and I had juuust enough time to feel relaxed before it was over.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my job, but Mondays are still Mondays, and no one ever likes to see a weekend come to an end.
A few fun updates from my weekend ~
I finally started watching Orange is the New Black and I’m loving it. I think I always knew I would enjoy this show, but since moving home, I haven’t been alone long enough to really sit down and watch a few episodes by myself (since my parents probably wouldn’t be fans). Plus, 55 minute episodes are a serious commitment! But I was home alone on Saturday night, so I poured myself some wine and watched a few. Gotta love a solid night in every once in a while.
I also bought myself a fun new gift for doing so well in my race on Saturday! I’ve had my eye on a Garmin 10 watch for a while now. I really wanted the green one, but the local Dick’s Sporting Goods only had pink and I had a coupon…. I thought about going home to order it on Amazon, but I am a person in love with instant gratification so I just grabbed the pink one. So far, I love it.
It is so much easier to keep track of my pace will be now! Before, I was running using the Nike+ app on my phone which I really liked, but having to unlock my phone every time I wanted to check my pace was distracting and probably dangerous since I had to look down at my phone constantly.
I went for a trial run with the watch on Sunday and really liked how much easier it was to 1) just glance at my wrist, and 2) run without carrying my phone in my hand. I’ll definitely be needing some sort of way to carry my phone in order to have it with me in case of emergencies, but at least now I don’t have to worry about constantly having it in my hand while running.
Other than that, not much else happened this weekend. It was super hot out, almost 90 degrees both Saturday and Sunday, so we spent most the time inside. What is this, second summer?
Professor is not a fan of the heat and he just lounged around all weekend. What a lazy bones.
Hope you’re having a good start to your week!
Have any exciting coming up this week?
